hearing? reporter: yeah, well, first of all, we re about 30 minutes away from that. the media started to gather all in here. the pen is full of people here in chicago. you can t actually video the first court appearance. they actually have to use sketch artists. you won t see video of the actor inside the court talking to the judge, but i think to pivot somewhere else here, talking about superintendent eddie johnson, the fact that he was so direct during that news conference, i think people were kind of shocked. i thought we would go to that news conference, brooke, and hear some details. i didn t know they were going to lay it out the way they laid it out. i was told some people inside the police department were obviously angry about the idea of the noose, not only the noose, but the motive of quite some time, he laid that motive out. the actor apparently was upset about his pay and that s what he was talking about in that sound bite there. then they went on to give more parts of th
ainsley: new socks. you wear these fun polka dot striped socks. today they are solid gray. i love them. steve: what s this, ainsley. ainsley: that was at my friend lori s house in connecticut. her son and mother-in-law huge fox news fan. hayden in her arms. we had a casual fun, lots of our friends all of the kids. it was a great time. we were, i did face time on new year s eve special at 8:30. with carley and griff. brian: i didn t know we would be christmas eligible. i have christmas not new year s eve pictures. a few sketch artists there. i will be able to get some in the next hour when people start waking up in my neighborhood. steve: charles, how did you spend new year s eve? at a restaurant with the family. my son was in he left yesterday. went to london. going to school college there low key but wonderful to have the family. we spent the last couple days doing a film retrospective in my house. i was sharing the movies
i can t take his cell phone. did you really make me leave my important judge meeting this morning to make we watch a video of your client lip-syncing beauty and the beast? yes, your honor. are you sure? the judge is like, have i ever done that? the one prosecutor goes gulp, the one in the back of the room goes, yeah, your honor, you really did. and she goes, when? she likes reading those transcripts on-air so much that every time there s been a hearing to one of the cases tied to the russia investigation the first order of business on the show has been to get the transcript ordered and the sketches, stat. the this gets them on tight deadlines, hours of hearings delivered. i mean, look at the talent. rachel and the entire trms staff would be lost without these guys. so, thank you, sketch artists and court reporters for making this possible this past year. the rachel maddow show salutes you.
into their kool-aid attacking trump day in and day out without facts. eboni: i look at the updates on my phone from some of these news organizations and they are so petty. it is like really? you re looking for any and everything at this point to bring in, bringing down on policy, if you want to attack them on the merits of things you feel you have a problem with politically or otherwise but the pettiness of the elect is playing in his favor. stephen: the positive thing for me is president trump s strategy here is working. it really is working. do your best to speak the truth directly and let all these other news agencies keep stepping in the dirt and slinging mud. americans are seeing the truth. eric: and then you make them crazier by pulling some of the press briefings and making them use sketch artists to sketch out spicer. leo: trump s twitter account has made cable news
that would punish russia and of course it would limit the president from lifting sanctions on his own unilaterally. we will see if he will be willing to sign that. you mentioned trump russia and trump russia, the russia story is probably the single-most aggravating factor in president trump s rather rocky relationship with the news media rekaent cently with the briefings recently with the briefings being diminished in frequency and now going to audio only. some news organizations including fox news have retained the services of sketch artists to see what s happening in the briefings. do we see this relationship ever getting better? i think it is about trump trying to resume control over the message. at this point, i think from their perspective, these daily briefings have not reflected well on the trump administration. they ve served to showcase certain reporters and they ve basically, you know, honed in on these back and forths that are
