proof, evidence, do you need to for people to start understanding bottom line, everybody should give this president a chance to succeed. if it s not crystal-clear at this point. there is in opposition to to what he s doing. there is evidence of it. people have resigned. it is tragic. eboni: for those who say they want accountability from the president, is there such a thing in your mind is holding him accountable but not opposing him? stephen: absolutely. america wouldn t be america if we didn t hold him accountable. president trump won because of his twitter account. that s how wounded our meeting is. that s a sad state of affairs. leo: stephen may be surprised i agree 100%. cnn, msnbc, and the other networks are angry. they are mad because they were
wrong. trump beat them at their own game. what cnn has done, lost credibility. they have the right to cover the news but not to go to a point way they shoulder a vendetta, and that s what it is right now. eric: can we maybe recognize this might be a turning point? mainstream media has been like rabid animals, attacking trump on everything to the point where they have enclosed the loopholes on basic research, basic journalism. now maybe this will be a big siren saying we ve got to stop. take a step back. you can accuse anthony scaramucci of collusion with the russians when you don t have it. like every news story they decide to put in the paper or put on screen, they better be checking their sources. eboni: kennedy, i want to be optimistic. maybe this is a full stop and reset. but the new york times came out and apologized and said they would do better. they ve been the same. no one has shown improvement.
into their kool-aid attacking trump day in and day out without facts. eboni: i look at the updates on my phone from some of these news organizations and they are so petty. it is like really? you re looking for any and everything at this point to bring in, bringing down on policy, if you want to attack them on the merits of things you feel you have a problem with politically or otherwise but the pettiness of the elect is playing in his favor. stephen: the positive thing for me is president trump s strategy here is working. it really is working. do your best to speak the truth directly and let all these other news agencies keep stepping in the dirt and slinging mud. americans are seeing the truth. eric: and then you make them crazier by pulling some of the press briefings and making them use sketch artists to sketch out spicer. leo: trump s twitter account has made cable news
no matter what tweaks they may add the next weekend i have, no matter how the bill changes around the edges, it is fundamentally flawed at the center. eric: eboni, i would disagree with the assessment that it can t be changed to the point where they can get the votes. the reason there was no vote today or this week. eboni: they are very far apart on this. giving the senators a week, we heard the president talking about the other side with this is the republican side that s far apart on the issue. i don t expect any democratic buy in. republicans don t need it. senator rand paul, saying give us time to read the bill so this doesn t happen again. eric: kennedy, i couldn t be happier that they sidelined the bill. i would love them to sideline it may be for even a year. kennedy: or perhaps eternity.
eboni: the trump administration issuing a blunt threat to the syrian president over chemical weapons. intelligence has uncovered potential evidence the regime may be preparing for another chemical attack. believed to have most recently used chemical weapons on its own people in april, leaving thousands dead. earlier, u.s. ambassador to the u.n. nikki haley delivered a warning. the goal is, at this point, not just to send us out a message, but to send russia and iran a message. if this happens again, we are putting you on notice. my hope is that the the presids warning will get russia and iran to take a second look and i hope it will caution assad from the fact that we don t want to see innocent men, women, and children hurt again. eboni: we hear nikki haley putting them on notice.
