On tenth day of strike, KSRTC resumes inter-State services

Mysore/Mysuru: Government bus service from the Sub-Urban Bus Stand and City Bus Stand saw further improvement today on the tenth day of the indefinite strike launched by employees of the four State-run Transport Corporations
KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC and NEKRTC seeking fulfilment of their various demands.
The employees of RTCs are on strike since April 7 to press the Government for fulfilment of their nine-point charter of demands, which chiefly included salary as per the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission.
With the number of employees returning to work increasing by the day, albeit in small numbers, Mysuru KSRTC authorities resumed inter-State operations to a couple of destinations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

KSRTC, BMTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC seeking fulfilment of their various demands entered the ninth day today, more number of workers are reporting back for duty with each passing day.
So far, 947 out of about 1,800 employees attached to four depots of KSRTC Mysuru City Division have reported for duty, while 845 out of the nearly 3,000 staff attached to Mysuru Rural Division have reported for work, according to KSRTC sources.
The employees are on strike since Apr.7 urging the Government to meet their nine-point charter of demands. Belagavi, April 10 : A day after invoking provisions of the Karnataka Industrial Disputes Act against the ongoing transport employees strike, Karnataka police on Saturday detained Kodihalli Chandrashekar who is leading the Karnataka state owned transport employees strike, in this district headquarters town, sources said.
As the strike entered the fourth day, Chandrashekar who is honorary president of the Karnataka State Road Transport Employees League (KSRTEL), that is steering the protest seeking pay hike on par with other government employees by incorporating the Sixth Pay Commission s recommendations was detained by the Karnataka police in Belagavi.
