Since the beginning of their respective film careers in the mid-70s, Rajinikanth and Mohan Babu have been the thickest of friends. During every trip to Chennai, the Tamil superstar has this habit of visiting the Telugu actor and vice versa. The legendary duo has also worked together in “Pedarayudu”, the Telugu remake of “Nattamai”. In the second week of April, Rajinikanth joined the sets of Siruthai Siva s Annaatthe in Hyderabad and wrapped up his portions by camping in the city for more than a month. While 60% of the shoot was completed last year before the lockdown, the penultimate schedule came to a grinding halt in December 2020 when four crew tested positive for COVID-19. Though the 70-year-old superstar tested negative, the stress had caused fluctuations in his blood pressure level, requiring hospitalization.

The shoot of Siruthai Siva s Annaatthe starring Rajinikanth in the lead is back on track. The team began the shoot in December 2019 and the shoot went on till February 2020. Owing the pandemic, the shoot was halted. Later, the team again resumed shoot in November 2020. However in the first week of December, several members from the team tested positive for Coronavirus and Rajinikanth, too, was hospitalised owing to fluctuating blood pressure. He was later discharged and took some rest before resuming the shoot again.
After shooting some portions in Chennai and Hyderabad, the team will now film sequences in Kolkata, too. Nayanthara, who is presently in Kochi, will join the team soon, and so will Keerthy Suresh. The film, we hear, will be in true Siva s style - a pucca family entertainer. Today, Sun Pictures released a new picture, a working still, of Siva and Rajinikanth, which has gone viral on social media.
