Blenheim Palace will call their Indian Room the Summer Terrace Room during a new exhibition on Sir Winston Churchill to avoid colonial connotations .
Bosses at the country house in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, will use the alternative name for the show on the UK s greatest prime minister.
They said they didn t want to provoke controversy and wanted to make it more accessible following calls to reassess Britain s past.
But the palace later issued a statement saying it was due to the Indian Room being in a part of the house known as the Summer Terraces.

As Labour descends into civil war, some of the sharpest post-election criticism of Sir Keir Starmer has come from the Blairite wing of the party.
Lord Adonis, who was Blair’s policy chief, has called for Starmer to go. But is Momentum, the hard-Left organisation set up to bolster Jeremy Corbyn’s ill-fated leadership, limbering up to provide his replacement?
After Corbyn announced his exit, it was assumed Momentum would wither and die, but I hear it has been quietly rebuilding. In fact, accounts for the organisation show its financial affairs have never been in better health.
According to documents filed at Companies House by Momentum Campaign Services Limited, there was £167,000 in the bank in December 2018. But by end of 2019 that figure had jumped to £641,000. The number of employees is also up from 21 to 30.
NOW that Labour has lost another English Red Wall constituency – Darlington – to the Conservatives, it seems clear that the right wing is firmly embedded at Westminster. After so many Brexit lies to the EU and Northern Ireland, the illegal prorogation of Parliament and associated lies to the Queen, the normalisation and acceptance of sleaze within Westminster is surely by now a truth universally acknowledged , from Brussels to Washington DC and back again to Buckingham Palace. It is also blatant; there is no shame. Recently, David Edgerton, Professor of History at King s College, London, argued that Scotland s independence would help England liberate itself from the Anglo-UK state and move on to a new democratic settlement .

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Bloomberg columnist Sir Max Hastings shares his thoughts on guns, crime, and the differences between his native Britain and the United States in
Having a father who had brought home keepsake firearms from the Second World War, he claims he became “exceptionally proficient” at taking apart and reassembling guns as a child. This glimpse into his background is provided to preempt the “common response of American enthusiasts to the rest of the world’s horror: ‘Foreigners don’t understand guns.’” That isn’t quite the point. Foreigners – regardless of how well they may handle guns – don’t always understand Americans.

According to the documentary, the BBC was Diana s second choice to tell her story, as three months before the Panorama interview she attempted to get her story out in a two-hour, one-on-one briefing with the then Daily Telegraph editor.
The programme claims Diana told Sir Max that she hated Charles and that the marriage had been hell from day one .
She is said to have branded the prince not up to the task of kingship and said that their son the Duke of Cambridge should be the next king.
