A cashier with a private bank in Junagadh was arrested for siphoning off Rs 83 lakh from the accounts of the bank’s customers and the bank itself. The cashier used the money to pay off his credit card bill and invest in the stock market. The financial irregularities were discovered when a customer complained about the non-opening of a fixed deposit account.
