When the single code (the code) is introduced, pension scheme trustees will need to consider several changes regarding investment, so it’s important that they start getting familiar with these now.
As I write, we haven’t yet seen the final version of the general code of practice – the code that had formerly been known as the single code of practice – but we understand it will be published just as soon as the Department for Work and Pensions has signed it off. It will then be laid in parliament for 40 sitting days before coming into force.
The draft code of practice on funding will be published before the end of the calendar year and there will be further progress on the single code soon, The Pensions Regulator (TPR) says.
