Arambai Tenggol, a Meitei group, called a meeting of all Meitei MLAs and MPs at Kangla on January 24. The police have barred the organisation from carrying arms in the venue. A three-member team of Union Home ministry is in Manipur to hold meeting with Arambai Tenggol leaders.
A three-member team of Union Home ministry officials, which included advisor AK Mishra, joint director IB Mandeep Singh Tuli and joint director SIB Imphal Rajesh Kumble, had met Arambai Tenggol leaders on Monday and Tuesday. Regarding this meeting, he said, "They have assured us that their primary focus will be on addressing the Suspension of Operations (SoO)".
Officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the tribal leaders was held in Manipurs Churachandpur on Thursday. They discussed unsettled and prevailing issues. Tribal leader said that Thursday s meeting also reviewed the decision of the last meeting, held with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on August 8.
