Khaitan Legal Associates, Jehaan Shroff, Mahrukh Umrigar and Satyendra Shrivastava have launched their own boutique corporate law firm Consortia Legal. Initially, the firm will have offices in Mumbai and London.
The firm will focus on Insurance, Data Protection and Cyber Security, Global Mobility, Employment, Private Client alongside the standard Corporate Transactional and Commercial advisory area.
M&A specialist Simone Reis and international tax expert Rajesh Simhan, who both left Nishith Desai Associates (NDA) after more than 12 years at the firm’s Mumbai office, have set up a boutique firm called Anagram Partners in Mumbai.
Reis, who joined NDA in 2009 as a senior associate, was named co-headed of the firm’s M&A practice in 2013. She previously worked with DSK Legal.
Meanwhile, Simhan, who joined NDA in 2008, recently led the team on ReNew Power’s planned $8 billion SPAC listing.
