income, because i live in new york. but that won t solve the problem. megyn: joining me now democrat of the new democrat network simon rozenburg. and rich lowrey editor of the national review. megyn: you have bill clinton speaking out in way that the white house may not consider all that helpful. the reports are that behind the scenes they are saying they are surprised and displeased. simon, you re a former clinton guy, what do you make of the comments? why is he doing that. i don t think anyone tells bill clinton how to think about any issue. he s obviously a very smart guy. what he was saying is the current path we are on is unsustainable and we need a new plan. i think president obama laid that out for the past few weeks. we are headed in a different direction and that s when the
stimulus now may boost things and get the economy back on track. that is going to be the big focal point of the debate this fall between the two parties, no doubt about it megyn. megyn: in if that is the case do you believe that president obama believes that? i do, because i think the stimulus plan worked. and i know this a lot of people watching this show don t agree with that but when the president came into office we were losing 700,000 jobs a month. we have actually had for almost two years net job creation every month. so things are substantially better, and i think megyn: adding zero jobs to the economy is not good but it s better than losing 700,000 a month. let me just ask you my follow-up, which is if president obama, you believe really believes what you believe, which is we need more stimulus to turn the economy, genuinely that is what is needed, then why is he not likely to do that? even though the left is pushing him to go big, simon known really expects him to do it. i
