Ottawa plans to announce who will replace Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin as the head of Canada’s vaccine rollout as soon as Monday, according to two government sources.
The sources, who iPolitics assured it wouldn’t name in order for them to share information they otherwise wouldn’t be able to, are well-connected to the decision about who will takeover for Fortin, the rollout’s original logistics’ operator and planner, who stepped down Friday night, “pending the results of a military investigation,” as the Department of National Defence said in a press release.
The federal government faced new calls Monday to be more transparent with Canadians about Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin s departure, with ministers taking questions about the matter in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau s absence. Now, with the vaccine rollout in a pivotal moment without a logistical lead, Fortin s replacement could be named imminently.

Fort Monroe should be a place that tells a detailed story about the landmark and the region, though parts will be uncomfortable, Fort Monroe Historical Society President Robert Kelly writes in a guest column.
