Ottawa plans to announce who will replace Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin as head of Canada’s vaccine rollout as soon as Monday, according to two government sources.
The sources, whom iPolitics assured it wouldn’t name, are well-placed to know who will take over from Fortin, the rollout’s original logistics operator and planner.
Fortin stepped down Friday night “pending the results of a military investigation,” according to a Department of National Defence news release.
The Canadian Armed Forces have not said why Fortin is under investigation, but news outlets, including the Globe and Mail and CBC News, reported over the weekend that it involves an allegation of sexual misconduct.
