Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has blamed substandard construction work for the flash floods in Teesta River. He stated that the maximum damage occurred after the 1200 MW dam in Chungthang broke. Tamang visited the flood-affected areas and relief camps to assess the situation and announced that a committee will be formed to investigate the incident.
