Elements and julie watts is here tracking the storm. We have been watching in front slowly spread south. This morning we started off with plenty of rain in the north bay and we are mostly dry from San Francisco south but clearly things have changed. If i put this radar loop on over the last few hours, you can see waves of rain continuing to move onshore and spreading farther south causing rain and very high snow totals. But a little bit of a rainsnow mix in the sierra. So snow levels are going to be up above about 9,000 feet for the most part with a few exceptions so really only along those peaks. But overall we are going to see lots of rain, definitely more rain than snow. At home we are seeing some of the heavier rainfall right now over the east bay. We are seeing moderate rain steady moderate rain north of castro valley, san leandro, piedmont, danville, san ramon, all seeing rain at this time. Rainfall totals over the last 12 hours over 2 up north, petaluma over an inch so far. Half

Notice the red beam of storm ranger tracking the lower level activity, especially at this minute in the south bay. Good morning, and thanks for joining us. Im Garvin Thomas with anthony slaughter with a look at the forecast and what i understand about storm ranger and where we have it placed is with that radar gives us is a coverage at the lower elevations that all the other radars dont. Yeah, and its a dual polarized radar too so it scans out to the atmosphere and the radius, three dimensionally, vertically and down. So you get every angle covered in the atmosphere and i mean we get a science forecast. And thats how the radar scans, just goes straight out so you get the three dimensional dual polarized radar and it scans seven times faster than National Weather Service Radar so yes, nbc has invested. Its not a toy. But its super cool. We are happy to have this as far as our tool
