Taurus continues to grow its line of popular
G3 series pistols by adding a factory optics cut to its affordable striker-fired 9mm handguns. Offered in both the standard G3 and the more compact
G3C model, the new Taurus TORO – Taurus Optic Ready Option – are the same guns that have already carved out a significant piece of the concealed carry market. But now they come with the bonus of having a cut and plate system for red dots. Taurus had the guns on hand at this week s Shooting Sports Showcase, and reps there told Guns.com the move to offer the factory cut is so consumers can immediately add their choice of micro red dot without the expense of custom gunsmith work or downtime of their handgun.
New: Optics Ready Taurus TX 22 Competition
Taurus has seen wild success with its TX 22 rimfire pistol series in the past two years and has upped the ante for 2021 with the new TX 22 Competition model. The newest TX 22 on the block, announced Tuesday, has a distinctive skeletonized slide similar to a Beretta 92/Taurus PT92 with a cutout between the ejection port to just behind the front sight. The pistol runs a 5-inch match-grade bull barrel that is threaded for suppressors and muzzle devices such as compensators. The trigger has been updated for better performance. Best yet, the slide has an optics cut and is ready right out of the box to accommodate a range of popular red dots.
