Students studying concrete and construction management at Middle Tennessee State University will do so in a $40.1 million building by fall 2022. I m excited for the program, said Leigha Lafferty, a senior from Shelbyville who expects to graduate in December before the building is ready. It s a good program to be a part of. It s like a family. Everybody knows each other and wants the best for everybody.
One of 325 currently enrolled in the program, Lafferty joined others Tuesday to celebrate the groundbreaking for a new building on the MTSU campus.
The new building is among the $1.3 billion in capital construction projects at the university the past 20 years, President Sidney McPhee told those in attendance. MTSU has an enrollment of approximately 22,000 students.
