David Plazas is the director of opinion and engagement for the USA TODAY Network Tennessee. This past academic year has been disappointing for students who wanted a typical college experience that combined on-campus learning and hanging out with new friends.  However, institutions of higher education innovated with digital learning and safer ways to do class together while preparing for a post-pandemic future that returns the United States to a semblance of normalcy. Cumberland University, along with many other schools, are offering in-person classes in the fall, and on this episode of the Tennessee Voices podcast, President Paul C. With the coronavirus vaccine more widely available, many are likely wondering if more students will be back on campus or if some classes might still be online if masks will still be required and even colleges plan on requiring students get the COVID-19 vaccine.
