MONTVILLE, CT A Rhode Island woman was charged after police said she drove the wrong way on Route 2A and I-395 for about 10 miles. Madison Jamak, 25, of 54 Jane St. in North Providence, was charged with reckless driving, DUI, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
State police received a call at about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday reporting a car driving the wrong way on Route 2A in Montville. Police were not able to locate the car initially.
A short while later, troopers found car traveling northbound in the southbound lane in the area of Exit 14 on I-395.

Troopers initial efforts to get the driver to stop were unsuccessful. As the car approached Exit 18, troopers place themselves in the direct path of the car, causing it to stop.

WINDSOR, CT Police are investigating after several nooses were found at an Amazon construction site in Windsor. The initial incident occurred when police were dispatched to the 1201 Kennedy Road site Tuesday afternoon on a report of suspicious activity.
A construction company supervisor reported that earlier Wednesday a hangman s noose was discovered hanging from a steel beam on the second floor of the building, police said. The incident was documented and a site safety team removed and discarded the noose.
The area where the noose was found is not monitored by surveillance cameras and is accessible to hundreds of employees from various companies.

WATERFORD, CT A Waterford man was killed when sheriff s deputies fired at him following a chase in northern Louisiana, according to The Associated Press. Michael Laduca, 42, of Waterford, died after a confrontation with deputies Wednesday night.
State police investigating the case said Laduca drove away as deputies in tried to stop him. He later crashed his Jeep Grand Cherokee through a barbed wire fence and got stuck in a ditch, according to The Associated Press.
Deputies then fired following a confrontation. Police have not said whether Laduca was armed.
