Shrewsbury locals plan to restore Edgemere Drive-In Sign

SHREWSBURY The landmark Edgemere Drive-in Theatre sign that stood on Route 20 for decades has exited the scene   at least for now. The classic blue-and-yellow sign once announced the movies being screened at the 66-year-old drive-in until its closing in 2004, and served as a reminder of Shrewsbury s rich history. The sign was removed before site work took place on the property, which is now being redeveloped as Edgemere Crossing at Flint Pond, a residential and commercial project expected to open this fall. According to Michael Buckley, the owner of the property, two Shrewsbury locals reached out to Shrewsbury Town Manager Kevin Mizikar with interest in restoring the sign.
