This brings the total number of cases to 59,366.
B117 strain
Whole genome sequencing and phylogenetic analysis conducted by the National Public Health Laboratory have revealed that three previously reported cases (Cases 59028, 59340 and 59351) have tested positive for the B117 variant.
These cases could also be linked, MOH added.
Epidemiological investigations revealed that Cases 59340 and 59351 visited Jewel Changi Airport on Dec. 31, 2020 between 2:35pm and 9:50pm, while Case 59028 was at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on the same day between 7:48pm and 8:49pm.
As a precautionary measure, MOH will commence a special testing operation to offer testing for staff who have been working from Dec. 31 at Jewel Changi Airport, and at the shops and food establishments that are open to the public at Changi Airport Terminal 3.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 10 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday (Jan. 23).
All of the cases are imported, and they had been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.
This brings the total number of cases reported in Singapore to 59,260.
10 imported cases
Two (Cases 59540 and 59541) are Singaporeans who returned from India.
One (Case 59537) is a Work Pass holder who arrived from India.
Five (Cases 59542, 59543, 59545, 59547 and 59548) are Work Permit holders who arrived from Indonesia and Myanmar, all of whom are foreign domestic workers.
Two (Cases 59538 and 59539) are Short-Term Visit Pass holders. Case 59538 arrived from the US to visit his Singaporean fiancée and Case 59539 arrived from Ecuador for a work project in Singapore.
This brings the total number of cases reported in Singapore to 59,250.
One new community case
The new community case, Case 59522, is linked to the cluster at BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd, at 34 Kallang Place.
Case 59522 is a 26 year-old female Malaysian national who works as a sales personnel at the company.
She is a co-worker of Case 59429, the first case to be confirmed out of the eight currently in the cluster.
She was placed on quarantine on Jan. 18 when Case 59429 was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection.
On January 20, she was tested for Covid-19 even though she is asymptomatic. Her test came back positive the next day, and she was conveyed to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
One (Case 59517) is a Singapore Permanent Resident who returned from the U.S.
One (Case 59501) is a Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from the UAE.
One (Case 59497) is a Long-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from the U.S.
Two (Cases 59486 and 59487) are Work Pass holders who arrived from India and the UAE.
26 are Work Permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India and Indonesia, of whom one (Case 59503) is a foreign domestic worker.
One (Case 59514) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from India to visit her child who is a Singapore Permanent Resident.
Two (Cases 59479 and 59515) are Special Pass holders who are sea crew. Case 59479 arrived from Indonesia to board a vessel docked in Singapore, and Case 59515 arrived onboard a vessel from Indonesia and had not disembarked. He was tested for Covid-19, and conveyed to the hospital when his result came back positive.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to

Two community cases
Case 59365
Case 59365 is a 44 year-old male Singaporean who works as an administrative officer at the Singapore Police Force (2 Mowbray Road). He developed a dry throat on Jan. 7 but had not sought medical treatment.
He was tested on Jan. 15 as part of the special testing operations commenced by MOH at his workplace following the confirmation of Case 59280.
His test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on Jan. 16 and he was conveyed in an ambulance to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
His serological test result has come back negative, indicating that this is likely a current infection.
