STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A local artist has created a painting honoring frontline workers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mafalda Cento, 79, of Huguenot said she was inspired to create “Anguish and Hope” to represent what essential workers are going through and to wish for their peace.
“The idea came to me in a dream,” Cento said. “I kept thinking of those who put their lives on the line during the pandemic and how there must be angels looking after them every day. I woke up the next morning, knowing I had to make this painting.”
