behind me the river that floods multiple times a year. residents are constantly having to evacuate. constantly leaning on the government to assist them with federal aid. many of the residents we spoke with are tired of losing their belongings. they don t want the federal aid any more. they want the government to come in and sweep up their homes and sell so they can move to higher ground. unfortunately, a lot of people her tell us for years they ve been trying to sell, for obvious reasons nobody is buying. this house the owners obviously have the right idea. their home is up on stilts this is the only home throughout this area that we ve seen where their home is above ground. if your home is not, it is sitting in mud or water. flood levels actually rose up to the second floor of many homes. i can show people what the street looks like. there s the passaic river up the street where our live truck is to the left look at pile of mud and all of the
