Sony sold 4.5 million PlayStation 5 last year
The source was able to get hold of the official sales figures for the PlayStation 5 game console, which are part of Sony‘s quarterly report. And there are enough interesting details.
So, for the first quarter of sales (formally – for the last quarter of 2020, but in reality, the console was sold only for a month and a half, since mid-November) Sony sold 4.5 million consoles. Everything is at the PS4 level: in the first quarter of sales in 2013, 4.5 million PlayStation 4 were also sold. And although this is a lot, it does not correspond to market demand.
