and surprises. leading the way with the most nods was american hustle and gravity. both got ten nominations each. ted johnson joins me now to help break down all the categories. so ted, i was at the golden globes. it looks like we re falling in line with what we saw for the most part with the globes. and one of the things that follows is another snub for oprah, which turned out to be the headline just about everywhere. it sure was. in fact, it wasn t just oprah, it was the whole movie that she was in. lee daniels the butler. i m thinking back to august when that movie was released. everyone thought this was going to be such a shoo-in. oprah and the star of the movie forest whittaker even were on the steps of the lincoln memorial for the 50th anniversary of the i have a dream speech. you can t get any more prestigious than that. but i think this is really a function of oscar voters having forgetfulness. there was such a slew of contenders that came in in
lists of who has been naughty and who has been nice. who has been a saint. who has been a sinner. with the recognition anybody a sinner can never be anything but a sinner. that is not division. that is mult littlecation. that is subtraction, not addition in politics and doesn t make for very healthy kind of a campaign or a very healthy kind of an officeholder. jon: the book is not out yet but strict me as i read through the excerpts what happened here was very much in keeping with the whole tenor of the hillary rodham clinton campaign, she thought she was a shoo-in. then she wasn t. there were lots of people defecting to the barack obama campaign and giving support to the barack obama campaign. among them patrick leahy and senator bob casey. and late senator ted kennedy, very high-profile defects. people that the clintons or hillary clinton particularly thought they had locked up. congressman john lewis, the civil rights icon who endorsed hillary clinton at the beginning of the campa
nominated for a golden globe. it would be nice to see him take it home. whoever takes it for lead actor that s up for grabs. lead actress, cate blanchett, blue jasmine. blanchett a two-time golden globes winner. i d be surprised if she didn t take home a movie. one more powerhouse movie i ve got to mention, american hustle, tops with seven nods along with 12 years a slave. fred, the word american hustle is pretty much shoo-in for golden globes for best motion picture comedy or musical. it s going to be a terrific night on sunday. it is, indeed, thanks so much, a.j. hammer. watch a.j. don t miss michelle turner s reports live from the golden
skating well by all accounts, trying to claim one of two olympic spots on saturday night. she was practicing for that performance this afternoon. she was just leaving the ice. reporter dana was waiting to interview her. a large man, 6 2 , 200 pounds, you know, came running out, just kind of crouched when he got to her. hit her a couple times with some type of weapon. reporter: kerrigan was hit several times on the leg around the knee by what s described as a club of some sort and then he fled. she was carried to the locker room but was later able to walk to the car that took her to the hospital for treatment. this evening she was released from the hospital. until today she was thought to be a virtual shoo-in for the olympics. this evening the president of the u.s. figure skating association said kerrigan must compete in tomorrow s initial program or she will not be allowed on the team. at her best, a stunning and graceful performer, nancy kerrigan said to her father after the attac
