Panaji, May 5 : Differences at the top of Goa s Covid management pyramid appear to be affecting the state s battle against Covid-19, with the medical fraternity, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant not appearing to be on the same page vis a vis deaths at Covid facilities due to oxygen shortage.
While Rane has claimed that no deaths have occurred in the state due to oxygen shortage, the Goa Association of Resident Doctors has claimed the contrary. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has now blamed health officials, including Rane and the dean of the state s top government medical facility Dr Shivanand Bandekar for not informing him about oxygen shortage in health facilities.

Panaji, May 3 : A letter written by government resident doctors to a top health official, claiming that patients were dying in Goa s Covid facilities due to shortage of oxygen has triggered a political war of words in the state.
A day after the letter written by the Goa Association of Resident Doctors leaked into the public domain, the Congress has now demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should be booked for culpable homicide on account of the alleged deaths.

Panaji, April 22 : Goa s prime beach villages, namely Baga, Calangute and Anjuna, have been identified as very high risk areas in North Goa with high chance of contracting Covid-19, according to the findings of GPS mapping exercise of Covid-19 cases conducted by the state s top government hospital.

Panaji: Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik was on Wednesday discharged from Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), after undergoing treatment for over a month for injuries he sustained in a deadly accident.
Naik was admitted to the GMCH on January 12 after he met with an accident, in which his wife and an aide were killed.
The minister is fit for discharge and can continue taking treatment from home, GMCH dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar.
