Responding to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma statement of closing 600 Madrassas in his state, Samajwadi Party (SP) Member of Parliament ST Hassan
Sarma said that he wants to replace all the madrassas with mainstream educational institutions to produce doctors, engineers, and other professionals to serve the state and the country
"I have closed 600 madrassas and I intend to close all madrassas because we do not want madrassas. We want schools, colleges and universities,” Sarma said.
Vijayapura BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal s remarks come a day after Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is visiting Karnataka, said he intended to shut all the madrasas in his state.
