covid-19: Lockdown declared in 16 hotspots in Thane city

Thane till March 31. On Monday, the civic administration of Thane city has declared that 16 hotspots will go under lockdown till March 31. As per an order issued by Thane Municipal Commissioner, Vipin Sharma, the decision was taken due to a surge in coronavirus cases over the past few days. As of Monday morning, the caseload of the Thane district stood at 2,69,845. 6,302 deaths were reported so far. Ruling on the sanctity of the ‘specified date’ of possession, Maharashtra Real Estate Appellate Tribunal asked a builder to refund with interest money paid by two buyers who withdrew from a project three months after delivery of their flats was due. Regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said that two persons were killed as the vehicle overturned and fell into the valley. In the wee hours of Sunday, a burglary took place in a jewellery shop located at Thane s Shivai Nagar. It is believed that up to 3 kgs of gold has been stolen from a store named Warimata Gold. The incident took place between 2 and 2:30 am. The deceased have been identified as Subhash Yadav (24) and the vehicle s driver Deepak Bhide (40). Two others were also injured in the accident.

In the wee hours of Sunday, a burglary took place in a jewellery shop located at Thane s Shivai Nagar. It is believed that up to 3 kgs of gold has been stolen from a store named Warimata Gold. The incident took place between 2 and 2:30 am. Two months prior to this incident, a man from outside Maharashtra had offered Rs. 28,000 to rent a store next to Warimata Gold. The shop tenant had said that he had a fruit business. After two months of pretending to sell fruits, the accused broke the walls and stole all the gold jewellery from the victim s store during the night. The Vartak Nagar police are currently investigating the incident further.
