Thane: Man breaks into jewellery store, steals 3 kgs of gold

. In the wee hours of Sunday, a burglary took place in a jewellery shop located at
Thane s Shivai Nagar. It is believed that up to 3 kgs of gold has been stolen from a store named Warimata Gold. The incident took place between 2 and 2:30 am.
Two months prior to this incident, a man from outside
Maharashtra had offered Rs. 28,000 to rent a store next to Warimata Gold. The shop tenant had said that he had a fruit business.
After two months of pretending to sell fruits, the accused broke the walls and stole all the gold jewellery from the victim s store during the night. The Vartak Nagar police are currently investigating the incident further.

Mumbai: Man arrested for stealing valuables at wedding, condolence venues
Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly stealing valuables from venues of weddings and other functions in Mumbai, an official said. The accused, identified as Shafique Abdul Kudus Sheikh alias Munna, a resident of Shivaji Nagar locality, was arrested on Monday, the official said. He used to target weddings and condolence meetings by going there wearing nice clothes so that no one could get suspicious of him. He used to collect information about the venues from newspapers, Chembur police station s senior inspector Shalini Sharma said on Monday.
