Last night we had not quite this much water and today well have this this much and tonight well have a lot. Tonight the cars out back have to get moved. West 18th street typically floods and this was stepping through the water to move out the garbage. Some contractors called it a day because of the weather. Im working 40 feet in the air and the wind is so bad and im putting on metal panels the just not safe to work. This is what it did off north 5th street. Erosion was predicted and not a surprise when you look at the intensity of the waves pounding the shore. Amazing is a good word for it. More than one person has said these are the biggest wave they have seen in years, and the beaches are paying a price and the erosion is substantial and the folks out here watching the ocean city music pier and well have more flooding tonight. Reporter the good news is a lot of floodwaters have receded, although the big concern is once high tide strikes around 8 00 to 9 00 this morning. Were in avalon by the inlet bridge. You see by the jetties, weve got the waves crashing here. It does not look too bad at this point, although every now and then we get the winds picking up and waves crashing on to the rocks.
