Known in the community as “Ms. Sheryl,” the 62-year-old woman normally stayed in the Sango area of Clarksville, and she was frequently seen at the bus stops lining Madison Street, around Marshall’s or hanging out in Arby’s for hours at a time. At least 33 people were displaced from their homes when flames broke out at the Coldwater Creek Apartments Sunday around 2 a.m. Now, the American Red Cross and a nearby church are stepping in to help. The Red Cross had boots on the ground within hours after flames destroyed the Warner Robins apartments.  Five volunteers on the ground, another five working virtually, so we can quickly help the families for the one-on-one to help them find what are your emergency needs, Communication Director for the American Red Cross of Georgia Sherry Nicholson said. 

Mobile park families facing eviction get help with Christmas

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Providing Christmas gifts for families in the Campbell Heights mobile home park facing eviction in the coming months was the mission on Saturday, Dec. 19, for one local ministry. As Clarksville Now reported in mid-November, eviction notices were posted Oct. 20 on trailer doors, alerting residents of the 98 mobile homes comprising the park on Darrow Road near Fort Campbell Boulevard that they had until Jan. 20 to find somewhere else to live.
