gvogrin@tribtoday.com WARREN Negotiations between Trumbull County officials and the union representing sheriff deputies will enter a new stage, as both parties have differing positions on a fact-finder’s report for a new contract. County commissioners this week rejected the report from fact-finder Dennis Byrne of Aurora on a new three-year contract for the deputies union. Commissioner Mauro Cantalamessa confirmed the board unanimously voted against the report on Wednesday. “Now, barring any changes over the next seven days in this matter,” Cantalamessa said, “we move on to the next step of conciliation.” Both parties have been working on a new agreement with the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association representing full-time deputies since the old one expired June 30, 2020.
