Horace Mann’s Cano-Romero Named Bell Ringer Winner For March
Horace Mann Elementary School bilingual interpreter Mireya Cano-Romero is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Bell Ringer Award for March.
The monthly award is a way for Superintendent Steve Triplett to honor Sedalia 200 staff members who put the district’s mission statement into action and those who display exemplary effort in celebrating student success. Winners are selected from nominations made by staff members and administrators.
The nominator for Cano-Romero wrote: “Mireya has been a huge asset to the Horace Mann family. She is the translator for our building and has built amazing relationships with our students and their parents. Mireya works with our Hispanic families to help them understand what is going on in our building, works with students who may need some extra help, and translates many papers and notes for the teachers. She always lets the students know how proud she is of their achievements. Mi

Skyline Elementary School mixed-age teacher Tonya Edgar is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Bell Ringer Award for February.
The monthly award is a way for Superintendent Steve Triplett to honor Sedalia 200 staff members who put the district’s mission statement into action and those who display exemplary effort in celebrating student success. Winners are selected from nominations made by staff members and administrators.
The nominator for Edgar wrote: “Mrs. Edgar celebrates her students with RoAR awards when they get an A on a test and she sends home a poster to hang on their door when they pass their multiplication facts. Mrs. Edgar s class does a fundraiser to support our community every year. This year proceeds went to the Community Cafe.
