Edgar Named Bell Ringer Winner For February
Skyline Elementary School mixed-age teacher Tonya Edgar is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Bell Ringer Award for February.
The monthly award is a way for Superintendent Steve Triplett to honor Sedalia 200 staff members who put the district’s mission statement into action and those who display exemplary effort in celebrating student success. Winners are selected from nominations made by staff members and administrators.
The nominator for Edgar wrote: “Mrs. Edgar celebrates her students with RoAR awards when they get an A on a test and she sends home a poster to hang on their door when they pass their multiplication facts. Mrs. Edgar s class does a fundraiser to support our community every year. This year proceeds went to the Community Cafe.

Two Marshall residents were injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Saline County on Friday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Edelin Garcia, failed to yield while merging from a private drive onto the roadway and struck a northbound vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Morgan Renfrow, of Marshall.
While Renfrow was not injured, Garcia and a passenger in his vehicle- 36-year-old Walter Aguilar-Guzman- suffered serious and moderate injuries, respectively. They were transported by Saline County E.M.S. to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment. Neither of the occupants in Garcia’s vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
