The Adirondack Park Agency has approved the use of an herbicide to target two patches of Eurasian watermilfoil, an invasive species on Lake George. The permit approval comes after decades of work and millions of dollars trying to manage the problem.
Lake George has an invasive species problem. Eurasian watermilfoil has been spreading in the lake for decades. Local groups have spent tens of thousands of dollars a year trying to manage the problem. Last year alone, more than 136,000 pounds of milfoil.
