Brandon Police Service dog Blue has died at the age of 11, two years after his retirement from the force.
The department announced that Blue had crossed the rainbow bridge in a weekend news release, in which they sent their love to the canine. Rest easy, Blue, they wrote of the German shepherd. We will take the watch from here.
Blue was born on April 25, 2009, in Innisfail, Alta., where he joined lifelong partner Sgt. Mike Kulchyski in training together.
They both graduated from the RCMP Dog and Handler Training Program on Sept. 8, 2010, after which they began their shared career with the Brandon Police Service.
