“We felt like we had our own private corner. It was nice,” Tom-Kee told KTW. “The park was there, but not right there. My ignorance was bliss. I knew it was there, but we had our privacy. It’s gone. It’s literally gone.” Tom-Kee pointed to between 30 and 50 stumps that remain and a dozen residences backing onto Centennial Park impacted. Tom-Kee said the city is planning to remove the stumps and replace its chainlink fence a small alleyway also separates the townhouses from the park and townhouses at the edge of the park. Tom-Kee said she asked the city a couple of years ago to clean up the area by removing garbage and cutting back some of the foliage. She did not, however, expect the hedge to be removed entirely. She said the greenery was healthy, with many birds making the hedge home.

A subject reported criminal damage to a vehicle at 1205 Madison St. at 1:35 p.m. Friday.
A search warrant was executed at 3:03 p.m. Friday at 1922 Adams St. Brandon Leon and Trisha Johnson were arrested and booked into Barton County Jail on multiple narcotics charges in lieu of bond.
A non-injury crash was reported at 3:31 p.m. Friday at 24th St. and Main St.
A subject reported multiple incidents of fraud Friday afternoon.
A fraud was reported at 7:40 p.m. Friday at Dollar General, 5318 10th St.
Multiple incidents of fraud were reported Friday evening at Walmart, Walgreens and the Great Bend Post Office.

Their names are forever etched on the history of Kamloops and the RCMP: Gordon Pedersen, Donald Weisgerber and Joseph Keck.
The three young officers in the city s detachment were shot in Peterson Creek on June 18, 1962. Their deaths came at the hands of George Booth, a 31-year-old man with a rifle and believed to be suffering from mental illness.
The trio were gunned down by Booth near the entrance to Peterson Creek Park; the shootings prompted a man hunt that eventually cost Booth his life, too.
A cairn was erected, first at the site where the officers fell, then moved inside the park, to pay tribute to their bravery and the loss of their young lives.
