GREAT BEND TRIBUNE One arrested after Sunday traffic stop nets suspected narcotics Garrett Buckbee
An Ellinwood man was arrested after Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered suspected narcotics during a traffic stop in Great Bend Sunday morning.
According to Sheriff Brian Bellendir, at about 9:53 a.m. Sunday, BCSO Deputy Sheriff Alexandria Mason stopped a white Chevy Malibu at 24th Street and Paseo Drive in Great Bend for a traffic infraction. During the course of the investigation, BCSO deputies became suspicious of illegal drug activity and a canine officer was called to the scene to assist. After further probable cause was developed, a search of the vehicle ensued, in which deputies located suspected methamphetamine, prescription drugs and paraphernalia. One individual, Garrett Buckbee, 24, of Ellinwood, was arrested at the scene.

A subject reported criminal damage to a vehicle at 1205 Madison St. at 1:35 p.m. Friday.
A search warrant was executed at 3:03 p.m. Friday at 1922 Adams St. Brandon Leon and Trisha Johnson were arrested and booked into Barton County Jail on multiple narcotics charges in lieu of bond.
A non-injury crash was reported at 3:31 p.m. Friday at 24th St. and Main St.
A subject reported multiple incidents of fraud Friday afternoon.
A fraud was reported at 7:40 p.m. Friday at Dollar General, 5318 10th St.
Multiple incidents of fraud were reported Friday evening at Walmart, Walgreens and the Great Bend Post Office.
