Chin Mee Chin the famous old-school confectionery is reopening at its original location at 204 East Coast Road. While it was earlier reported that Chin Mee Chin would be returning in March this year, there was a delay and it would be reopening in May 2021 instead. Specialising in local kopi, traditional kaya toasts and soft boiled eggs, this is the ultimate go-to destination for an authentic retro Singapore experience. The legendary coffee shop is also known for its baked goods such as Swiss rolls, cream horns, luncheon meat buns and sugee cakes. Established in 1925, the legendary coffee shop has been closed for two years and according to an article by The Straits Times, it is making a comeback in partnership with the Ebb & Flow Group, which is behind food and beverage concepts such as The Dragon Chamber, Tigerlily Patisserie, and Sommer Dining.

When she made the switch to finance-related roles after 10 years in technology, she went to the library and scoured the web to pick up relevant knowledge on her own accord. During the circuit breaker, she saw an opportunity to enrol herself in a six-week digital strategy course. And when UOB rolled out a professional conversion programme called UOB Finance Academy in August to impart technical and soft skills to 230 employees, Ms Tan went on board without hesitation.

Sandakan Graduates of YouthPrepLink meets again

SANDAKAN: A reunion of YouthPrepLink (YPL) graduates was held virtually via ZOOM on Nov 28. A total of 90 graduates who were involved in YPL from 2011 to 2019 participated in this meeting. This was the third YPL meeting. The theme for the meeting was Memories bring back, Memories bring back You. The programme began with a brief orientation on the use of ZOOM applications by the host. Then they proceeded with a reading and reflection of the Gospel followed by an opening prayer by the Liturgy Team. The YPL attendees: Sr Jossie Sili, rgs, Jell Joseph, Evelyn Doikin, Sharon Tan, Wilfred Frederick (Boy) and Seminarian Andy Borine Tingadon gave short speech videos.
