Late last night we learned all Prince Georges County Public Schools are closed today. 1,700 teachers and 30 of the transportation staff requested leave today and in d. C. All six Center City Public Charter schools will be closed because of staff requests for time off. Alexandria city Public Schools are also closed today. More than 300 Staff Members there requested the day off. The closures have a lot of parents scrambling to find child care today. The citys out of School Time Program in alexandria is available from 9 00 to 6 00 p. M. There is a walkin fee of 15 and children should bring lunch and snacks. Its 4 31. Springtime is messing with our heads a little bit here. It kind of is and its going to be a little bit more of a winter taste in the air as we go into the weekend. We have changing temperatures over the next few days here. Heres a look at the radar. The rain quickly moving across 95 into Charles County now. Its starting to leave quantico. Fredericksburg a little bit lighter now. A lot of this rain starting to come to an end. As we go through the day today you can expect more in the way of sunshine, windy conditions. The steadiest of the rain has already moved out. Now were left over with some spotty showers. Fairfax near the district. Just some very light rain, maybe just sprinkles at this point. Charles county as well so we could still be seeing a few light sprinkles over 95. But we had a lot of wind moving in but again, i mentioned quick clearing and mild temperatures. For a closer look at those temperatures and what to expect lets head over to chuck bell. Kind of a cool start now. It was much warmer not long ago. It was in the 60s when i pull out of my garage about 2 00 this morning. Back into the 40s to around 50. Still way warmer than average. So kids going out to the bus stops, showers coming to an end very quickly. Maybe have the precautionary umbrella for a bit but a breezy and mild afternoon today with temperatures back up into the mid perhaps to the upper 60s.
