Blowing the rain drops out of here today enjoy the warmth while its here and theres several chances for snow in the tenday forecast. It was the march that sparked a movement and today, the same organizers behind the womens march on washington are encouraging women across the country to stay home from work. And there are a lot of ways the march could impact you. Lets give you a look at what you need to know today about a day without a woman event. This is happening today, march 8th because it is International Womens day. The organizers say women should stay home and take the day off of work. Also to avoid shopping in stores and online, they say shopping at small businesses, local businesses, women and minority owned companies is okay. Now, if you do have to work but you want to show your support there are ways you can do that as well. Organizers say wear red. Women and men both can do this and sacrifice. This is all happening to call attention to womens issues including wage inequality, gender discrimination and other work place issues. International womens day events are being taking place around the world in 50 countries. Well, when you are missing 1,700 teachers and 30 of your transportation staff it makes it hard for things to go on as normal or as usual. The ceo of Prince Georges CountyPublic Schools put those numbers out yesterday. Maxwell said the county could not provide safe and productive learning environments without adequate staff and went on to apologize for that inconvenience. We are seeing similar scenes play out as far as schools are concerned and your kids maybe this morning. Center city public charter schools, alexandria city schools as well closed for the day. The same ones you mentioned behind the womens march on washington that happened right after the election are calling for a oneday strike around the world to spotlight the role women play in society and suggest women take part in rallies and marchs near them. There has been an attack on the hospital. Whats this about . Were seeing the aftermath of it all. A few hours or so ago two to three attackers were still inside that hospital in kabul afghanistan. Youre seeing the smoke from an earlier explosion. Five total attackers including a suicide bomber who blew himself up right at the gate. You can see that smoke, you can see that there are Security Forces responding here. Three people were killed in the attack. The gunmen stormed the facility after the suicide bomber blew himself up and were told that they dressed as doctors. The taliban was suspected of being behind the attack. But so far this morning theyre denying responsibility. The quick thinking of a witness and a 911 dispatcher helped track down a suspected killer. This morning 35yearold Jamal Kingsbury is behind bars. Hes the man that killed a man outside of a Burlington Coat factory. Someone spotted him and called 911. The dispatcher who took the call only spoke to news4. We stayed on the line and i you know, i got a description from head to toe. So i stayed on the line. When i heard an officer in the background, he stated to me, hes running. So i said, if hes running then thats him. Sharon jones says she praised the caller for doing the right thin kingsbury will stay in custody in d. C. Until hes extradited to virginia. A court order is keeping some billboards from being turned on. City inspectors first filed stop work orders against owner digi media saying the signs lacked permits. The president s revised travel ban is already facing some legal challenges. Hawaii will file a temporary restraining order against that ban in court today. The president signed the order on monday which bans travelers from six majority muslim countries it bans all refugees for 120 days. A the states attorney general says the order targets immigrants and refugees under the pretense of national security. Now, over on capitol hill, republicans are fighting amongst themselves over what the new Health Care Law would include and doesnt include. Today lawmakers will begin debating the plan that will replace the Affordable Care act. The more conservative members of the Republican Party introduced another bill that just repeals the Affordable Care act. Several republican members of the senate have said they feel rush and want to slow down the time line to more closely examine all of the options. We are divided on replacement. When we pull out and show you these delays, three miles of solid brake lights headed through prince Williams County but there is a better way. For that we go to the wtop traffic center. Were hoping route 1 will handle any kind of volume if folks know about this they can hop over toward route 1. Youll stack up because of the lights but youve got all your travel lanes available and hopefully they can get this crash cleared out the main lanes of 95. Anything else going on like this mess . You know it. A lot is going on. Take a look at other issues as were looking at the beltway. Inner loop, branch avenue, we are again, quite slow through that area. 66 inbound looking good at 61 inner loop, the right lane blocked with a new accident there as well. 270 has recovered. No major problems from that earlier crash that closed things down. Bottom of the beltway, not bad. 9 Miles Per Hour inbound on 210. 31 Miles Per Hour inbound on 5. Travel times, 270 again is okay.
