Delhi Hospital Oxygen News: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday released a list of private and government hospital running low on oxygen supply. Sisodia, in his letter addressed to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, said that while some hospitals have a few hours of oxygen supply left, supply at six private ones has dried up.  Rathi Hospital, Santom Hospital, Saroj Super Speciality Hospital, Shanti Mukand, Tirath Ram Shah Hospital, and UK Nursing Home have exhausted their supply of oxygen.

Talking to ANI, Saggar said he had told doctors to discharge patients who can be discharged. Stating that 110 people are on oxygen support, he broke down saying that patients would die if they come here as they did not have oxygen. Our oxygen stock has almost finished. Because of the COVID situation, the demand has increased. In a normal patient, we give 2, 4 or 6 litres of oxygen but when a patient of COVID comes we may have to give 14, 15 litres or 18 litres depending upon the severity of the disease, said Saggar.

A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli said the Centre’s allocation of oxygen for Delhi from plants in other states such as Haryana was not being respected by the local administration there and it needs to be resolved immediately.

Sunil Sangar, CEO of Shanti Mukund Hospital in the capital broke down today as he said his facility had 110 patients on oxygen and the doctors were unable to maintain full levels of supply needed by each patient and were now rationing to ensure supplies last longer.
