shannon: thank you very much for the update. pope benedict s preachers apologizing after making a comment comparing the criticism of the catholic church to suffering of the jews. pope benedict did not address the church abuse scandal during today s easter mass. the catholic church is one of the oldest religion institutions in the world but how does the church integrate itself and stay current in 20th century life? joining us is fare frank pavone. happy easter to you, father. happy easter to you and our audience. shannon: how do you keep people involved or those that walked away, how do you reengage them in the 21st century. we proclaim the kingdom of god and christ is risen and we serve fundamental human rights and the church needs not only
extremists are extremists. shannon: how are the groups that we are talking about now different or the same as, say, a jihaddist group that would come together? interesting group. there are some simmitys and differences. the similarities some of those known as christian militants, by the way, have nothing to do with christian theology or ideology, this is politics that they are trying to do. the way they organize and the way they want to fight the government physically that is a resemblance with a jihaddist. the jihaddists are backed internationally. there is a huge web and they have media and ideology and that is something that is isolated organization at this point in time do not have. shannon: do you think we will continue to see copy cat groups or others wanting to see what they are doing in the militia groups in our own borders here? basically this is not the
prolife movement and he said well, we need that kind of encouragement because in europe many people feel like there can t be any progress and the progress that we are seeing is that the young people especially when it comes to the moral issues are looking for a challenge. they are looking for truth. we have to present it to them in all its rigor and vigor and fullness and then the truth itself will attract them. shannon: i have to tell you, having covered the march for life many times here on the anniversary of the roe v. wade decision, the crowd is very, very young. it usually is a lot of teenagers and college students out in force so we know they are connecting in many ways with the church. now, that you have to deal with another round of allegations and accusations against the church, how do you deal with that issue and reassure people about what the church is doing to try to alleviate the problems? well, you know, the part i
