Knifepoint robber gets time served | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN A Gloversville woman involved in a knifepoint robbery in 2020 was recently sentenced in Fulton County Court to time served and probation. Deanna W. Bleyl-Garza, 24, of 9 Fox St., was sentenced by County Court Judge Polly A. Hoye Feb. 9 as part of a plea arrangement. She received credit for unspecified time served, as well as five years probation, restitution and an order of protection was granted for her victim. The sentence was based on her Aug. 17, 2020 guilty plea to third-degree robbery. Gloversville police arrested Bleyl-Garza and a co-defendant Shane M. Curran of 162 Bleecker St., Gloversville –in April 2020. At the time, they were accused of committing a robbery at knifepoint a week prior. Police reportedly came into contact with the robbery suspects while investigating an unrelated incident they were also alleged to be involved in.
