BAHRU: Police have arrested six people, including a local woman, on suspicion of being involved in a robbery incident and injuring a victim at a grocery store in the Ulu Tiram area near here on Friday.
Seri Alam Acting District Police chief DSP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the suspects, aged between 21 and 40, were arrested between 1 am and 6 am today through a series of raids and inspections of four houses in Taman Desa Tebrau, Masai and Pasir Gudang.
“Acting on intelligence and investigations, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Seri Alam District Police Headquarters managed to arrest the five men and one woman.
JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested a 36-year-old man believed to have thrown petrol bombs and red paint at several houses here.
Seri Alam acting OCPD Deputy Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said that the suspect was arrested at about 7am on Saturday (Jan 16), in front of a shop in Taman Ria Plentong. The suspect was believed to have thrown petrol bombs and red paint at a house in Taman Molek at about 9am on Thursday (Jan 14). He then did the same thing to another house in Taman Bukit Tiram at about 11.15am on the same day. We have also seized several items from the suspect to assist in investigations. This included his clothes and helmet, which has red paint, a marker believed to have been used to write threat notes and a lighter believed to have been used to light up the petrol bomb, he said in a statement on Saturday.

Seri Alam acting OCPD Deputy Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the victim, Ong Kim Hin, who owns a mushroom cultivation centre at a mall, was with an employee when the incident took place at around 11.40am on Tuesday (Dec 15).
“They had been installing gas cylinders in a steam generator and when Ong turned on the knob, the gas cylinder in front of him exploded.
“The impact threw him to the ground and he sustained severe injuries to the face and head.
