PROVIDENCE â This unhappy meal came with a nasty prize.
A customer angry about his order at the McDonaldâs on Branch Avenue Thursday night went inside looking for a fight with the cook.
The police said the cook agreed to fight the customer and others in the parking lot, until he heard one of the assailants yell, âGo get my gun!â
The cook, Shaheed Miller, 27, told police he pulled out a pocketknife and started âslashing wildlyâ at the assailants, so he could get to safety inside McDonaldâs, according to a police report. Miller cut the unhappy customer, 25-year-old Jacob Velazquez, in the face, arm, and back, according to detectives.
About Incident
Upon arrival, police spoke with a male with a laceration to his face who told police he got into an argument with “several McDonald’s employees due to his order being wrong.”
The man with the laceration said a male employee had “challenged him to a physical altercation” outside. The victim and his relatives said the employee took out a pocket knife and slashed the victim down the middle of his face.
Police entered the McDonald’s, and said employees pointed out their colleague involved in the altercation.
A pat-down by police of the identified employee located a small pocket knife. The employee at that time was placed in a police vehicle.
