The council members toured the island on Thursday, accompanied for part of their visit by Mayor Adams’ new Correction Commissioner, Louis Molina. Councilwomen Sandy Nurse (D-Brooklyn) and Tiffany Caban (D-Queens) said they were told during the visit there were still jail units with no floor officers, a lingering problem resulting from the number of officers out on sick leave.
