To celebrate Community Action Month, the Community Action Partnership of Kern is celebrating 60 years of helping Kern residents. 23ABC took the opportunity to highlight the Shafter Youth Center.
Shafter's May 7th City Council meeting will be held outside at Community Park inside Gossamer Grove to help bridge the gap between the fastest-growing neighborhood and the core of the city.
To kick off the month of May, the City of Shafter will be hosting Dia del Niño, Vive el Arte, and Cinco de Mayo from May 2 to May 4 all around the city.
On Friday, members of the Shafter Senior Center and the Cesar Chavez National Monument gathered to commemorate Chavez, and celebrate National Parks Week.
