Highlights Gudiya was reportedly asked to pay Rs 15,000 in order to collect her husband’s body. Meerut District Magistrate K.Balaji said that he has set up an inquiry to probe the allegations. New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a COVID-19 victim’s body was kept in Meerut’s Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College’s (LLRMMC) mortuary for more than 75 days as his wife was not able to pay Rs 15,000. The 29-year-old victim is being identified as, Naresh, who scummed to the coronavirus infection on April 15. His wife, Gudiya, came from Basti district to collect her husband’s body but was reportedly asked to pay Rs 15,000.
