Je tu príbeh Christianny Ritterovej, ktorá vycestovala za manželom na Západné Špicbergy. Spolu s ním a s jeho pomocníkom prežila isté obdobie vrátane polárnej noci v malej chatke. Písala si denník, ktorý neskôr vyšiel pod názvom
