Inner Agency Council on homelessness is made up of 19 federal agencies that are committed to and are relentlessly working towards the goals of opening doors. Agencies like the department of Veterans Affairs and the department of labor along with hud, hhs and the department of education. Our shared goals to end homelessness among veterans, among families, among youth, and among those experiencing chronic homelessness and among all americans. I have 17 colleagues at usich. Attorney general eric holder has announced that the new Justice Department initiative aimed at Building Trust between local Law Enforcement and the civilians they serve by providing training. He said the effort is a response to what happened after the Police Shooting in ferguson misery last month. The attorney general discussed the new initiative at the Justice Department last week. This is the group im charged with examining sentencing disparities and developing recommendations on how we can address them. There is a Clear Strategy and plan in relation to that. Personally, i think that a lot more work needs to be done on what exactly the route map is in syria. Those are the particular issues that i raise in relation to syria. I want to make some progress with my argument, if the house will allow me. Isil is not simply a murderous organisation. As the Prime Minister said, it has ambitions for a state of its own a caliphate across the middle east, run according to its horrific norms. And values. That is why i believe, and established in the first part of my remarks, that we cannot simply stand by against the threat of isil. In acting against it we need to learn the lessons from the past. We should be clear about this with the british people. That means a comprehensive strategy humanitarian and political, as well as military, and, crucially, rooted in the region. Some of that work is under way, but i believe that much more needs to be done. There is a reality that the house must face up to
Besides the fact that is completely impractical, and we also have free speech, the reality is that these companies are doing something about it. They are at different levels. We have worked with them. They have endorsed our best practices. They remind people that people who are trying to exploit their services that not only is there a legacy of Technical Innovations that have been created, but these Companies Take seriously the fact that people are trying to exploit them. Theyre also trying to come up with Creative Solutions to mitigate those who want to exploit them. They are part of the Community Coming up with strategies. That has been a critical partner for us as well. Finally, i have to say at the end of the day, what is the most effective way to walk someone off that led . You can share information with Law Enforcement, you can share strategy with the tech industry. And you have your own peers who are willing to not only identify a problem, but have the courage to step up, that i
